During the Builders Investor House, we combine our efforts and partner up with startups and scale-ups to host the next events. This edition was co-hosted with CM.com, a leading provider of cloud-based communication and payment solutions, powers seamless customer engagement. Estefania & Dylan and Alisher kicked off the night with inspiring pitches on turning the daily grind into joy. Also, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Gilbert Gooijers, CM.com's COO and co-founder. Expecting a fireside chat about their products, we ended up focused on two things: communication and more communication.
🏢 Culture: It’s easier to communicate a culture by what it isn’t. CM’s clear message about eliminating corporatism empowers everyone to build on similar beliefs. On top of that, Gilbert is still involved in every new hire.
🌟 Serendipity: Face-to-face communication sparks creativity and builds bonds. As the team grows (750-ish strong), office encounters are a thing of today, not the past. CM’s “always at the office” culture ensures these interactions keep the team connected, fueling innovation and keeping the company ticking.
🏡 Homefront: Keeping everyone involved, even the spouse? CM sends a partner newsletter to update families on what’s happening at work. Overkill? Maybe. Smart? Definitely.
🛠️ Tech: Gilbert’s a tinkerer focused on team and culture, but they’re building their own LLMs, digging into inbound communications, and using AI. Most noteworthy? Most CM’s of workforce is engineers, and there’s even a ‘wall of shame’ displaying those who complete work without relying on LLM/GPT or AI.
